How often do internet romance scammers actually get arrested?

Not often. Most of these scams come from countries where the local officials could care less about what happens to 'rich' outsiders, and the money scams bring in to the local economy is not insignificant.
You have very little chance at getting a scammer in another country prosecuted.
Most victims also do not have an accurate conception of who actually scammed them, also.
The person in the picture is rarely who scammed you.
The best way to stop these scams is to not send money!
These scammers count on you being willing to get indulge in the fantasy they offer. It is a fantasy, whether about love, or riches.
YOU willingly dive in, and end up losing money, time, and often suffering heartbreak.
STOP IT!
There is no reason to send money to somebody you only know from the internet, or phone calls. The people who ask for money from strangers online, are doing this to make money. It's not about survival, or emergencies, or love, or 'damn, I have millions of dollars I don't know what to do with?'
STOP BEING A FOOL, and a victim.
Search anybody by name, e-mail address, phone number, online username or even friends in your address book and instantly return lots of info.
